Alder Construction is currently hiring for the following positions;

CCO Crane Operator

We need a certified crane operator to run our lattice boom and hydraulic cranes. We run 75-100 ton link belt lattice boom cranes and 60-80 ton link belt hydraulic truck cranes. We have an immediate need in the Salt Lake area for a good crane operators.

All our operators must have current CCO certification in lattice boom and/or hydraulic cranes. Crane operators will be responsible for proper crane setup, rigging, picking and daily preventative maintenance issues. Must have previous experience as a crane operator in high production construction environments.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Construction Laborer

    The essential functions and basic duties of the General Laborer are to perform tasks involving physical labor at water / wastewater project sites, including; Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints; Lift heavy loads; Operate hand and power tools of all types; Clean and prepare sites; dig trenches; set braces to support the sides of excavations; erect scaffolding; clean up rubble and debris; And assist other craft workers.

    Concrete Finisher

    The essential functions and basic duties of the Concrete Finisher are to operate a screed to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specification. Smooth concrete surface using either a hand trowel, long handled “bull float” powered float and/or riding trowel machines. Cut joints/grooves in concrete with edging tools to help control cracking, as well as layout and sawcut joints with an early entry saw. Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces. Monitor the wind, heat and cold as it affects the curing of concrete. Set and place forms to proper elevations and location, prepare the base and install proper reinforcing. Install anchor bolts, steel plates imbeds and other fixtures into freshly poured concrete.

    Additional functions include:

    • Communicating professionally with vendors and jobsite employees
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Must have good vision, stamina, good hand eye coordination and an ability to estimate size and dimensions
    • Skill in smoothing, finishing freshly placed concrete, applying surface treatments and restoring concrete surfaces
    • Required to perform tasks that include heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching
    • Must be able to work outdoors in areas that are dusty or dirty
    • Work overtime as required
    • Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies

  • Carpenter

    The essential functions and basic duties of the Carpenter are to perform and build shoots and concrete forms for pouring cement mixtures during large constructions. Work and maintain knowledge of various construction materials among which include wood, fiberglass, steel, and concrete. Read and interpret building plans/blueprint for large and complex structures. Take measurement of distances and materials to establish the dimension/size of a structure. Cut, shape, and smoothen the surface of materials using power saws and sanders. Build door, window frames, furniture, and staircase using choice raw materials or pre-fabricated wood products. Ensure compliance with safety regulations to minimize risk of workplace accident. Operate and use welding machines to fasten metal parts to one another. Erect ladders and scaffolding in order to assemble wood/metal parts above ground level. Inspect structures to identify and repair defective or damaged sections or parts. Direct and supervise laborers and other construction aids. Ensure a structure meets the requirements set by a municipality.
